Three Columbia Public Schools students have been selected as candidates in the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. Hickman High School Senior Fletcher Orr and Rock Bridge High School Seniors Will Cover and Cooper Deneke are among 4,500 candidates selected from 3.6 million students expected to graduate nationwide in 2020.
Columbia Public Schools is the recipient of the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting, awarded by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR).
Battle High School student Ava Kitzi has been named a Norman Borlaug Scholar as part of the World Food Prize Youth Institute. Ava will have the opportunity to work with Nobel and World Food Prize Laureates and discuss pressing food security and agricultural issues with international experts.
